JUDA After-School Club

Give your child the JUDA experience!

What is JUDA?  We are an innovative, Jewish, educational after-school program.  We believe that children learn best through interactive experiences and hands-on discoveries.

Children at JUDA are encouraged to ask questions and be active participants in their Jewish journey. Explore the Hebrew Language, Holidays, History, Culture, and Community with good friends and teachers who are dedicated to bringing life into learning using our signature hands-on approach.

1. When does JUDA take place?

Monday/Wednesday afternoons from 4:00-5:30 pm

2. What age is JUDA for?

Ages 4-7. Children are divided into small groups based on age for some of the activities.

3. Where does JUDA take place?

JUDA takes place at the Takiff Center

4. What kind of activities will my child engage in at JUDA?

JUDA provides a unique way to explore Judaism through multiple forms of art. Activities include painting, cooking and baking, acting, singing, and nature exploration. Additionally, children will have several opportunities throughout the year to prepare packages and cards for the needy.

5. What topics of Judaism will my child explore at JUDA?

Your child will learn the Hebrew alphabet (if they already mastered that they will be able to progress in their Hebrew reading). In addition, each week will cover a different area of Judaism including Shabbat, Israel, Prayer, and Tzedakah.

6. Is JUDA a Hebrew school?

JUDA is an after-school Jewish exploration program. Although it does provide children with a wide range of Jewish knowledge and experience, since it comes after a day of school, there is a strong focus on the creative arts.

7. My child already attends Hebrew school. Will they gain anything from JUDA?

Absolutely. JUDA provides immersive and creative Jewish experiences that work beautifully hand-in-hand with a Hebrew school curriculum. If your child is learning Hebrew reading at Hebrew school, we will help reinforce their reading in tandem with their Hebrew school.

8. Who will be directing JUDA?

Mrs. Deena Wolberg will be spearheading JUDA, with additional staff to help facilitate the programming. She can be reached via phone at (773) 571-3126 or via email at deena@glencoechabad.com.

9. How much does JUDA cost?

JUDA costs $599 for the full 30-week school year. There is a sibling discount available. When you refer another child you will receive a 10% discount. No child will be turned away due to a lack of funds. Please contact us for scholarship opportunities.

10. My child usually gets hungry during that time-frame. Is there snack?

Yes, we serve healthy snacks and water halfway through the class.
